Voice Channel Management

Complete guide to SYNTHET's voice module covering auto-voice creation, user-facing channel management commands, staff controls, and dashboard configuration for dynamic voice channel organization.

Quick Start (5 Minutes)

  1. 1. Access SYNTHET dashboard Voice section
  2. 2. Create or designate a voice hub channel (join-to-create)
  3. 3. Configure channel naming template and user limit
  4. 4. Set default bitrate and permissions
  5. 5. Test by joining the hub channel to auto-create a voice channel
  6. 6. Users can now manage channels with /voice commands

Core Features

Auto-Voice Channels

Automatically create temporary voice channels when users join designated hub. Channels are dynamically named and auto-deleted when empty.

Owner Controls

Channel creators can rename, lock, set limits, adjust bitrate, manage permissions, and ghost (hide) their channels.

Voice Statistics

Track voice time, leaderboards, peak concurrent users, and detailed per-channel analytics for insights.

Dashboard Control

Configure settings, monitor active channels, manage hubs, and track statistics all from the intuitive dashboard.

Hub Configuration

Once setup, configure default settings via dashboard:

  • • Default user limit for auto-created channels
  • • Channel naming template with {user}, {game}, {count} variables
  • • Default bitrate quality
  • • Parent category for auto-created channels
  • • Maximum concurrent channels per hub

Voice Statistics & Analytics

User Voice Time

Track total hours each user has spent in voice channels with real-time accumulation. View personal statistics and compare with server community.

Leaderboards

Ranked lists showing most active voice users by all-time, monthly, and weekly metrics. Includes milestone badges (50h, 100h, 500h, 1000h+) for achievements.

Peak & Trend Analysis

Historical data on maximum concurrent users, busiest times of day, and usage pattern trends. Identify when your community is most active.

Channel Metrics

Per-channel analytics including total active time, unique user count, average session length, and peak concurrent occupancy across hub channels.

Key Capabilities

Dynamic Naming

Auto-generated channel names using {user}, {game}, {count} variables. Fully customizable per hub for automatic personalization.

Permission Management

Channel creators can permit/reject specific users, lock channels, set user limits, and transfer ownership with simple commands.

Privacy Controls

Lock/unlock channels, hide from public listings (ghost mode), and manage member access with granular permission controls.

Auto-Cleanup

Automatic deletion of empty channels with configurable delay. Keeps server clean while allowing rejoin. Smart cache management.

Dashboard Configuration Guide

Best Practices & Tips

  • • Create multiple hubs for different use cases (gaming, study, casual hangout, events)
  • • Use meaningful naming templates that help users identify channel purpose at a glance
  • • Set reasonable user limits based on your server's typical voice activity
  • • Use /voice ghost for private group channels to keep server listings clean
  • • Monitor voice statistics to understand peak activity times and community patterns
  • • Encourage users to customize their channels with /voice name and /voice limit
  • • Set appropriate bitrate based on server boost level (higher boost = higher available bitrate)
  • • Use /voice permit and /voice reject to manage access to private channels
  • • Set slowmode in channels with heavy chat activity to reduce spam
  • • Monitor leaderboards to recognize active community members
  • • Use voice region command if your server spans multiple geographic locations

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Channels not being created when joining hub

Verify hub is properly set up in dashboard. Check bot permissions to create channels. Ensure parent category exists and is configured.

Channels not auto-deleting when empty

Check auto-cleanup delay setting in dashboard. Verify bot has permission to delete channels. Some channels may have permissions that prevent deletion.

Bitrate changes not applying

Bitrate may be limited by server boost level. Higher boosts unlock higher bitrates (up to 384 kbps). Check your server's current boost level.

Missing /voice commands in Discord

Restart Discord to refresh command list. Ensure Voice module is enabled on your server. Check bot has proper permissions and intents.

FAQ

Can I have multiple voice hubs?

Yes! Create separate hubs for different purposes (gaming, study, casual). Each hub can have different settings, naming templates, and limits.

What happens if I lock my channel?

New users cannot join. Existing members remain. Use /voice permit to allow specific users. Anyone with permissions can still access via link.

How do voice statistics work?

SYNTHET tracks when each user joins/leaves voice channels. Time is accumulated and displayed in leaderboards. Statistics help identify community engagement patterns.

Can I transfer ownership of my channel?

Use /voice claim to take ownership of abandoned channels. Currently, direct ownership transfer requires mod/admin intervention. Consider using /voice permit to give others control.

What's the difference between ghost and lock?

Ghost hides channel from the channel list (invisible to non-members) but allows new users to join if they find it. Lock prevents new users from joining entirely.
