Confessions

Anonymous Confessions

Let members share anonymous messages in a dedicated confessions channel. Fully anonymous with moderation controls and spam protection.

How It Works

Members use /confess <message> to submit an anonymous confession. The bot posts it to the configured confessions channel via webhook — no username, no avatar, completely anonymous. Admins retain moderation controls through reactions and dashboard settings.

For Members

  • • Use /confess anywhere in the server
  • • Message is posted anonymously
  • • No user ID or name is revealed
  • • Confirmation sent as ephemeral reply

For Admins

  • • Configure confession channel in dashboard
  • • Reaction-based moderation (remove posts)
  • • Content filters and word blacklists
  • • Optional auto-delete timer

Command

/confess <message>

Submit an anonymous confession to the server's confessions channel. The message is posted through a webhook with no identifying information. You'll receive an ephemeral confirmation that only you can see.

Options:
  • message (required) — The confession text to post anonymously

Dashboard Configuration

Configure confession settings from the SYNTHET dashboard under Fun > Confessions:

Confession Channel

Choose which channel confessions are posted to. Create a dedicated #confessions channel for best results.

Content Filters

Block specific words, links, or patterns from confessions. Prevents abuse and maintains community standards.

Auto-Delete Timer

Optionally auto-delete confessions after a set time period (1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, etc.).

Moderation Reactions

Admins can react to remove confessions. Configure which reaction emoji triggers removal and how many staff reactions are needed.

Spam Protection

Rate limiting prevents members from spamming confessions. Configurable cooldown between submissions (default: 60 seconds).

Anonymity Notice

Confessions are fully anonymous — SYNTHET does not store or log who submitted each confession. Even server administrators cannot identify confession authors. This is by design to encourage honest expression, but admins should monitor content with filters and moderation reactions.

Best Practices

Set up a dedicated #confessions channel, enable content filters for your server's rules, and use moderation reactions so staff can quickly remove inappropriate content. Consider a 2-minute cooldown to prevent spam while still allowing frequent participation.
