Common Issues & Solutions

Authentication Failed

Unable to connect to source bot

Solutions:

  • Verify source bot is still in your server
  • Check that you have admin permissions
  • Ensure source bot token/credentials are still valid
  • Try re-authorizing through OAuth

Migration Timeout

Process took too long and was cancelled

Solutions:

  • Check your internet connection stability
  • Reduce data scope if migrating a very large server (200k+ members)
  • Try migrating during off-peak hours
  • Contact support if timeouts persist

Data Verification Failed

Some data did not match expected format

Solutions:

  • Review the verification report in migration dashboard
  • Check for corrupted entries in source bot database
  • Manual cleanup of problematic records may be needed
  • Retry migration after cleaning up source data

Partial Data Import

Only some of your data was transferred

Solutions:

  • Check migration logs for skipped items
  • Verify all source data is accessible and readable
  • Ensure SYNTHET has required Discord permissions
  • Manually import missing data using admin tools

Before You Start Migration

Complete this checklist to ensure smooth migration:

  • Backup all important data from source bot
  • Verify SYNTHET bot permissions in your server
  • Keep both bots online during migration
  • Schedule migration during low server activity
  • Notify server admins about the migration

Ensure SYNTHET has the following permissions for successful migration:

  • Manage Roles
  • Manage Channels
  • Ban Members
  • Kick Members

Data Access

  • View Audit Log
  • Read Channels
  • Send Messages
  • Read Member Info

Data Recovery

If data loss occurred during migration, follow these recovery steps:

Step 1: Check Backup

Verify your pre-migration backup contains the lost data

Step 2: Access Migration Report

Review the detailed migration report for any errors or warnings

Step 3: Contact Support

Step 4: Restore Data
